چکیده
Background: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a complex condition affecting up to ۱۰% of women of reproductive age, marked by hormonal imbalances, ovarian dysfunction, and metabolic disturbances. Exploring the relationship between gut microbiota and PCOS pathophysiology is essential for developing targeted treatments. This study aims to investigate the potential impact of probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics on PCOS.Methods: In this narrative review, we conducted a comprehensive search of pertinent English-language literature using several key databases. Our search strategy involved employing specific keywords such as "polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)," "Probiotics," "Prebiotics," "Synbiotics," "Gut Microbiota," "Lipid Profile," Hormonal Balance," "Insulin Resistance," and "Metabolic Health".Results: The use of prebiotics, probiotics, and synbiotics presents promising results for managing PCOS. These supplements have shown beneficial effects across multiple aspects of PCOS management, including inflammation, hormonal balance, metabolic health, anthropometric indices, lipid profiles, glucose homeostasis, and antioxidant status. Conclusions: Overall, prebiotics, probiotics, and synbiotics offer a promising complementary therapy for managing PCOS, providing benefits beyond conventional treatments and paving the way for personalized treatment strategies in the future.کلیدواژه ها
