Introducing a novel MOF-based UiO۶۶-N/DAMO/Cu nanocatalyst for the oxidation of benzyl alcohols

چکیده مقاله:
In recent years Metal Organic Frameworks (MOF) has attracted considerable attention due to their special characteristics. One of the important uses of these compounds is their use as a catalyst support, which is important because of their porous structure.In this research, we aim to report preparation, characterization and catalytic application of a novel MOF-based catalyst for the oxidation of benzyl alcohols to the corresponding aldehyde. The specific substrate employed in this study is a type of MOF commercially known as UiO۶۶-NH۲[۱]. The desired catalyst was obtained by functionalizing of MOF with diacetyl monoxime (CH۳C(O)C(NOH)CH۳) and then complexation of copper metal to the oxime ligand (UiO۶۶-N/DAMO/Cu).UiO۶۶-N/DAMO/Cu DAMO: Diacetyl monoxime (CH۳C(O)C(NOH)CH۳)UiO۶۶-N/DAMO/Cu was applied in the oxidation reaction of various benzyl alcohols and corresponding aldehydes were obtained in good to excellent yields[۲,۳]. The catalyst is reusable many times with moderate decrease in its activity.
