Assessing the Efficacy of Blepharoplasty in Afghan people residing in Kabul

چکیده
Introduction: The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of blepharoplasty in the Hazara ethnic. Hazara people genetically have low eyebrows and puffy eyes. Blepharoplasty alone does not have an excellent result, because if it is operated from the lower part of the eyebrow, there will be no changes, and if it is operated like other people, an amount of eyebrow with a high mark will be removed, as the result, the scar of the operation remains because the skin of the eyebrow is thick and the skin of eyelid is thin, the distance between the eyebrow and the eyelid is very close and the beauty ratio is disturbed. Therefore, one of the solutions can be blepharoplasty with eyebrow lift in the eyes of the Hazara ethnic, in which both the eyebrows are in the right position and the line behind the eye appears very acceptable. Method: a retrospective study was done on ۱۶۳ patients who I had operated from April ۲۰۲۱ to December ۲۰۲۳. I recorded the files of the patients, after the operation, the suture was taken on the fourth day, then I followed the patients at intervals of one month, ۳ months, and ۶ months later. Measurement criteria were the similarity of both eyelids, complete disappearance of scars and the satisfaction of the patients with their own grading excellent, good and average. All information was recorded and analyzed in Excel. The ethical aspect of the research is the satisfaction of the patients who attended at the intervals after calling. Result: At the time of the study of ۱۶۳patients, ۱۲۹ (۷۹.۱۴%) were Hazara patients and ۳۴ (۲۹.۸۵%) were none Hazara patients, ۹۳ females (۵۷.۰۶%) and ۴۱ males (۲۵.۱۵%), ۲۳ females (۱۴.۱۱%) and ۱۱ males (۶.۷۴%). The mean age was ۳۰.۳۳+_۹.۳۳ years. Majority (۷۱.۱۶%) of them were female. It was seen that in the Hazara ethnic, the eyebrow is genetically located low and near the eyelid, so the result of blepharoplasty at the same time as eyebrow lift is excellent. In the Hazara ethnic, the result of blepharoplasty operation, ۹۳ females (۵۷.۰۷%), of which ۹۰ females (۵۵.۲۱%) blepharoplasty+ eyebrow lift had excellent result, ۷ females (۴.۲۹%) only blepharoplasty had good result, the average was ۰, ۳۶ male (۲۲.۰۸%) of which ۳۰ male (۱۸.۴۰%) blepharoplasty + eyebrow lift, had excellent result, ۵ male (۳.۰۶%) only blepharoplasty had good result and one man had medium result, in none Hazara ethnic, ۲۳ women (۱۴.۱۱%) of which ۱۷ women (۱۹.۴۲%) had only blepharoplasty with excellent result, ۴ women( ۲.۴۵%) had good results, ۲ women (۱.۲۲%) had average result, and ۱۱ male (۶.۷۴%) of whom ۱۰ male (۶.۱۳%) only blepharoplasty had excellent results, ۱ male(۰. ۶۱%) had good results and ۰ average result.Introduction: The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of blepharoplasty in the Hazara ethnic.
