Emerging pollutants in water resources are uncontrolled chemical, microbial, or radiological substances that can play an important role in the use of water in the future by examining their effects on the environment. In this review, a detailed discussion was conducted on various AOP, focusing on catalytic ozonation, electrochemical oxidation and photocatalytic processes. With the need for sustainable solutions for water treatment the use of AOP in conjunction with biological process has innumerous opportunities for not onlywater treatment but also the production of high value by-products. The present article provides a vivid view of the mechanistic features of various AOPs and its possible synergisation for process enhancement to achieve better removal Emerging pollutants efficiency
