Contamination of water supply system by organic matter molecules is becoming an increasingly concerning issue. This is because many of these molecules are resistant to degradation by wastewater treatment methods. Dyes are extensively utilized in various industries. As a result, the wastewater produced by these industries often contains dark colored waste, which, if discharged into water bodies, can lead to important environmental harm. The present study explores the utilization of bismuth calcium titanate for the photocatalytic degradation of red۱۹۵ dye under visible light. The synthesis of bismuth calcium titanate was achieved through a facile hydrothermal method, employing a temperature of ۲۰۰ degrees Celsius and a reaction time of ۲۴ hours. The obtained results demonstrate the efficient removal of color by the bismuth calcium titanate photocatalyst. Additionally, the chemical oxygen demand of the colored solution was measured both before and after the photocatalytic process, exhibiting a reduction from ۳۶ mg/liter to absolute zero mg/liter. These findings highlight the efficacy of calcium bismuth titanate perovskite as a promising alternative for the elimination of organic compounds from water sources, owing to its exceptional photocatalytic performance and minimal toxicity.
