Amino acid-based derivatives of pyromellitic diimides; Photo and electrochromic features

Pyromellitic diimides with N-functionalized amino acids were synthesized and characterized for photoandelectrochromic features. The dual-response behaviour was observed in concentrated sulfuric acid andorganic solutions. Upon light or electric stimulation, the light-yellow colour materials turned to dark blue or redcolour and subsequently reverted back after turning off the actuator
