This paper presents the synthesis and characterization of novel ۲-methyl alkyl thioether benzimidazolederivatives using a two-step, three-component one-pot synthesis involving ۲-chloromethylbenzimidazole,thiourea, and selected alkyl halides. Given the well-documented beneficial biological properties associated withbenzimidazole derivatives, it is expected that these hybrid compounds could demonstrate significanttherapeutic potential.
