چکیده مقاله:

A common goal in algal industries is to achieve greater biomass. Algal biomass production may be limited by several factors include environmental factors and mediacompositions. The subject of this study was to recognize that which factors in the culture medium more limit biomass production of Dunaliella tertiolecta. The effect ofpH, nutrient concentration, CO2 (NaHCO3) concentration, and cell population in a factorial matrix in three separatedexperiments was investigated. The effect of pH (p<0.01)and nutrient (p<0.01) was significant. The mean of biomass insamples that their pH were (and were not) control on 7 was 0.98 g/L and 0.87 g/L respectively. The biomass in the samples that were and were not feed by additive nutrients was 0.95 g/L and 0.93 g/L respectively. When the combination of pH and nutrient was considered, the biomass was more influence by pH in comparison tonutrient. The interaction between nutrient and NaHCO3 was significant (p<0.05). This means that, CO2concentration limited biomass only when sufficient nutrient was available. Nutrients concentration and biomass showed a direct correlation (p<0.05). Higher nutrients concentration increased the rate of reaching to the maximum biomass but did not affect the maximum point.Decreasing in cell density can’t increase biomassproduction
