چکیده

Short path molecular distillation (SPMD) is a technique specially designed for the separation ofthermally sensitive or high boiling points molecules from a fluid mixture. Decreased operating pressure in thedistillation gap supports easy evaporation of liquid molecules without being negatively affected by hot surfacetemperature. SPMD is an encouraging technology to separate valuable components or eliminate unfavorablematters. The growing number of research studies in different zones means further advances in such fields suchas essential oil, crude oil processing, production of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products (e.g., foodsupplements or drugs fortified with bioactive agents), cosmetics, high-value food products and many other areaswhere the purity of the product or active ingredient matters.
