In the research in the field of premixed low temperature combustion, because several strategies have not been completely successful due to the difficulty in controlling the heat release rate and the weakness of a suitable control mechanism for combustion phasing, the use of the combination of two fuels with their own characteristics A different ignition inside the combustion chamber of the engine was proposed. This type of strategy was referred to as compression ignition combustion with controlled chemical reaction. In the RCCI strategy, a low-reactivity fuel, such as gasoline or natural gas, and even hydrogen gas in certain cases, is injected into the air in the cylinder during the intake stroke through fuel injection at the air intake valve, or through a low-pressure injector. It is possible to create a premixed mixture of air and fuel with low flammability, and then fuel with high reactivity, such as diesel, is injected directly at the end of the compression stroke with the aim of igniting the premixed mixture in the combustion chamber. In this strategy, the combustion phasing was controlled by the ratios of these two fuels, one of which is a slow ignition fuel and the other is an early ignition fuel. Also, due to the fact that fuel with high reactivity, such as diesel, ignites at a lower temperature than fuels with low reactivity, such as natural gas and hydrogen, sufficient energy was provided for the ignition of fuel with low reactivity. Therefore, this two-stage ignition (in other words, spatial classification between two fuels) will lead to an increase in the duration of combustion and a decrease in the combustion temperature.
