چکیده

As water flooding management in country sides is an integrated part of mitigating destructive effect of water flow on people’s life, during the time that dams are broken, in this paper, the effect of evaporation and bed’s slope angle on dynamic behavior of water flow in dam break problem were investigated. As a result, a two-dimensional laminar flow in a rectangular domain was utilized. Moreover, VOF approach was used to simulate multiphase flow of water and air. In other words, VOF approach was used to predict the shape of interface as it is one of the well-known approaches for simulation of dam break problem. Not to mention, for simulating mass transfer physics in the flow, the lee approach was employed because of its main advantage for predicting mass transfer rate between each phase, which is not being dependent on interface to calculate mass transfer rate. In the following, numerical data of Ubbink et al. was compared to numerical results of current study to validate the veracity of present simulation. Results showed that the presence of a phase change reduces the horizontal velocity of the wave such that at the time of ۰.۰۶ seconds with superheat value of ۱۰, the horizontal velocity of front edge of the wave relative to the condition with no phase change, were changed dramatically, about ۰.۱۱(m/s). This is because of expansion in volume of the flow, an increment in the opposing force against the flow, due to difference between density of water and vapor.
