چکیده

The mud volcanoes are significant geo-morphological phenomena that like all other natural phenomena, can cause both positive and negative effects on environment.In this research , positive environmental impacts of Inche-Borun mud volcano in Gonbad-e Kavus area and its role in sustainable tourism development was studied.The findings of the research show that this phenomenon, despite having environmental disadvantages such as the destruction of aquatic ecosystems, the destruction of vegetation and the increase of greenhouse gases, has various benefits and positive affects including the regulation of the food chain in aquatic and non-aquatic environments,the formation of small plant and animal ecosystems (halophyte plants , cyanobacteria ,large invertebrates ) which is with outstanding scientific, economic , touristic ,industrial and educational potentials .On the based of studied done ,the positive environmental impact of Inche- Borun mud volcano more is related to its currative potential .the mineralogical and geochemical studies carried out by XRF&XRD methods show that Inche Borun mud volcano has no significant toxic substances; and it s main minerals are dolomite, calcite, quartz and clay minerals.there is a high amount of useful elements ,bicarbonate and aromatic hydrocarbons. so the mud volcano has a therapeutic aspect and can be one of the essential destinations for curative geo-tourism and attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists and geo-tourists.The mud volcano with having positive environmental impacts, through conservation and providing the necessary tourism infrastructure can be effective in creating jobs, income generation,,entrepeneurship and local economic development
