خلاصه مقاله:
Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a main health in global issue. Depression may associate with treatment period, income, and self-stigma that impacts on Tuberculosis recover. TB that shows more than six months of treatment period can identify as Multi Drug Resistant (MDR). The purpose of this study is to understand whether Depression can be predicted based on age, economic status, treatment period and self-stigma.Method: Respondents were identified from twelve community health centres using cross sectional approach. The sample characteristics were included adult, in the process of Tuberculosis treatment minimum one month; get the same multidrug standard in the TB treatment. The number of the sample was ۱۸۰ respondents who selected using accidental sampling technique. Information was collected using demographic factors, treatment period, depression, and self-stigma questionnaire on pulmonary Tuberculosis. A multiple linear regression model was applied to determine depression predictors of Tuberculosis. Results: The findings identified a significant difference between the four factors and depression on Tuberculosis patients with p-value of ۰.۰۰۱ in each variable. Regression analysis indicated that predictor unstandardized coefficients β between self-stigma and age was -۰.۱۶۵, economic status was -۰.۳۸۵, treatment period was ۰.۱۱۸ and level of depression was ۰.۳۲۰.Conclusion: This study found that age and economic status have a negative correlation as depression predictor. Both length of treatment period and self-stigma have a positive correlation as depression predictor. The longer TB treatment period, they would have experienced depression.
