چکیده

The limitation of water resources and growing water consumption is a huge concern in metropolitan. In this areas, much rainfall currents in the surface streets and thoroughfares and transmits to the main channels and watercourses. In the past these watercourses have the duty to collect and direct the runoff from rainfall, but today with expansion cities and passing watercourse from the dense urban areas, these water bodies have become a place for accumulation of garbage and sewage discharge. In this study, after reviewing the environmental and health problems, some solution has been provided to improve the urban watercourse. We choose Tehran as the study area and the result is indicated that due to the high volume of runoff production in Tehran and water crisis, especial looking to urban watercourse is important, not only in terms of urban beauty and tourist attractions, but also through providing the large part of the city’s water needs. Watercourses increase the efficiency of optimum use of the runoff and reduce the risk of flooding problems. They have very influential role in the development of future prospects. Therefore, the protection of their privacy has a great importance and keeps them away from any contamination that is necessary and inevitable
