Technical and Economic Feasibility of Constructing a Concrete Waste Recycling plant (Case Study: Tehran city)

چکیده
The construction industry is one of the most crucial economic sectors in societies. It consumes a significant volume of raw materials and building materials in line with the progress of civil engineering projects. Among the generated construction waste, concrete waste is a substantial portion. Disposing of this concrete waste in disposal centers might seem like a straightforward task, but it is equivalent to wasting national capital. Each year, the need for more space to accommodate waste disposal grows due to population growth, urban expansion, and the environmental consequences associated with it. Recycling concrete waste is an environmentally friendly solution that warrants further examination from an economic perspective. The purpose of the present research is to technically and economically evaluate the establishment of a concrete waste recycling site in Tehran Province. The proposed site can annually produce ۳۶۲,۰۰۰ tons of recycled aggregates. The total cost per ton of recycled aggregate is ۴۶۰,۰۰۰ Iranian Rials, assuming a selling price of ۹۲۰,۰۰۰ Iranian Rials. The project’s lifespan is ۲۰ years, and a discount rate of ۶% has been considered. Based on the economic analysis conducted using Excel and Ret Screen software, establishing such a site in Tehran Province is economically justified, with an internal rate of return (IRR) of ۳۳.۵%. Considering the chosen discount rate, it would attract investors. Additionally, the payback period for the project is ۳۶ months.کلیدواژه ها
