Background: This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the effect of methyl-prednisolone in FMF, synthesizing the available evidence and critically evaluating its efficacy, safety profile, and clinical implications.Materials and methods: Information collected from each study included study details (author, publication year, and design), patient demographics (age, gender, and ethnicity), intervention specifics (methyl-prednisolone dosage and treatment duration), outcomes (disease activity, attack frequency, and inflammatory markers), and adverse events.Results: A study involving ۳۰۰ FMF patients treated with methyl-prednisolone demonstrated a significant reduction in FMF attack frequency post-treatment initiation (p < ۰.۰۰۱). Moreover, inflammatory markers such as CRP and ESR exhibited a notable decrease following methyl-prednisolone treatment (p < ۰.۰۰۱). However, the observational nature of the study imposes limitations, precluding the inference of causality from the results.Conclusion: This systematic review presents initial evidence suggesting the potential effectiveness and safety of methyl-prednisolone as an adjunctive therapy for FMF. Despite encouraging findings, further investigation is warranted to validate these outcomes and determine the optimal dosage, treatment duration, and patient selection criteria for methyl-prednisolone therapy in FMF.
