چکیده

House black water (BW) is one of the most polluted wastewater produced by the humanewhich should be treated before release to environment ecosystem. Most of the currentwastewater treatment methods fail to efficiently remove nutrients from BW due to its high levelof chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphate (TP). In thisresearch, the performance of Chlorella Sorokiniana cultivated in pre-treated BW for efficientnutrients removal was investigated. The photo-bio-reactors (PBR) was designed to investigateand evaluate the denitrification of domestic wastewater. The performance of the designedTVP-PBR and the traditional Glass-PBR were evaluated in terms of biomass productivity, biological treatment and high value bio-products generation. According to the results, amaximum biomass concentration and productivity of ۱.۴ g/L and ۰.۳۵ g/L/d were achieved after۱۰ days of C. Sorokinina cultivation in the BW. Moreover, C. Sorokinina could successfullyreduce COD from۲۱۵.۵ to ۶۱ mg/L, TN from ۳۸ to ۱۲ mg/L, and TP from۷ to ۱.۵ mg/Lcorresponding to ۷۰%, ۶۸.۵% and ۷۸.۹% removal efficiencies, respectively. The findingssuggested microalgae cultivation as a promising approach for sustainable treatment of blackwater.
