This research introduces design methods for stabilizers and power system controllers for various FACTS devices to damp low-frequency electromechanical oscillations in power systems. A Power System Stabilizer (PSS) is a damping controller based on the excitation system and is integrated with the excitation system. Overall, PSS performs better than FACTS controllers in damping local oscillatory modes.
