چکیده

Up to now, lots of materials such as active carbon, iron, manganese, zirconium, and metal oxidehave been used widely for removal of dyes from contaminated water; among ferrites nanoparticlesis an interesting magnetic material due to its moderate saturation magnetization, excellent chemicalstability and mechanical hardness. Graphene, a new class of ۲D carbonaceous material with atomthicklayer features has attracted much attention recently due to its high specific surface area.Reduced graphene-oxide (rGO) has attracted great attention because of its unique propertiessimilar to graphene, such as its special surface, which makes it an ideal candidate for dye removal.By now, few works have been done on the preparation of CoFe۲O۴-rGO composite and theirapplications in contamination removal from water. In this paper, CoFe۲O۴-Reduced grapheneOxide nanocomposite was fabricated using hydrothermal process. During the hydrothermalprocess reduction of graphene oxide and the growth of CoFe۲O۴ were simultaneously occurred onthe carbon basal planes under the conditions generated in the hydrothermal system. The sampleswere characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), andFourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Removal performance of the CoFe۲O۴nanostructures was evaluated using Congo red as contamination and UV-vis spectroscopy asanalysis method. The experimental results suggest that this material has great potential for treatingCongo red contaminated water
