Electrophoretic Deposition of CNTs on the Surface of Glass Texture: An Improvement Technique in Production of Fiber ReinforcedNanocomposites

چکیده
Multi walled Carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) have been innovatively incorporated in production ofglass fiber reinforced composites. Electrophoretic Deposition (EPD) was performed in order toconstitute an active load transferring agent in composite structures. Experimental parameters insmoothly deposition of MWCNTs on non conductive glass textures have been studied and theeffect of field strength and CNT concentration has been investigated. Current- time anddeposition mass diagrams derived from experiments and measurements result in optimum fieldstrength and CNT concentration of solution in EPD process. For EPD of carbon nanotubes onglass textures it is not suggested to go for higher fields to reach better deposition of CNTs onglass textures. Among applied fields in this paper, ۲۰۰ V/cm showed better and more stableresults. The most efficient concentration was found in ۰.۶ g/L. More than ۵۸۰% higher depositionhas been observed through concentrated solutions from ۰.۲ to ۰.۶ g/L in fixed field strength. Thedeposition enhancement through field alteration was about ۴۰۰% by changing fields from ۱۰۰ to۲۰۰ V/cm in fixed CNT concentration. Having analyzed derived diagrams and also visualinspection of formed CNT layer on the glass texture result in using ۰.۶ g/L concentration in ۲۰۰V/cm field strength to achieve better deposition of CNT on glass texturesکلیدواژه ها
