چکیده

Today, Internet of Things plays a useful role in improving the quality of human life. Smart refrigerators, smart security alarms, smart cars, etc. are examples that show the extent to which the Internet has penetrated our lives. These devices can be controlled remotely with the help of the Internet and can perform their tasks easily with programming and without human intervention, and even with the help of this technology and with the software installed on the devices, better coordination and communication between the devices. It is done on the Internet.Implementing renewable energy systems is significantly increased worldwide to address various environmental issues. The capacity of renewable power source installation expanded in recent times and tends to increase in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize renewable energy generation and system flexibility so that it can be utilized safely. Efficient utilization of renewable energy will result in minimized environmental impact and increased reliability on the power grid. Internet of Things (IoT) facilitates integrating the different renewable energy sources and helps in the uniform distribution of available energy to the targeted beneficiaries when needed. It also improves the energy efficiency of the renewable system by effective management of generation, transmission, supply, and demand. This chapter discusses and highlights the role of IoT in the renewable energy sector.Smart grid can be defined in two ways. In many articles and books, the smart grid is mentioned as the image and vision that a desirable network should have in the future. From the perspective of the regulatory sector, a definition of smart grid is more commonly used, during which the definition of challenges is specifically mentioned.
