Energy harvesting captures ambient energy like light, heat, vibrations, and motion to power electronic devices, offering sustainable solutions and reducing battery dependency. Applications include self-powered sensors, smart homes, medical implants, and Internet of Things (IoT), leading to a greener future. Electromagnetism is a prominent mechanical energy harvesting mechanism due to its high power density. The electromagnetic coupling coefficient, influenced by the coil and magnet properties, determines the efficiency of electromagnetic systems. In this study, we evaluate a sample system's performance using semi-analytical analysis and finite element simulations. Various aspects, such as coil and magnet characteristics (magnet arrangement, number of magnets, wire thickness, length, and inner radius of the coil), are investigated to optimize system efficiency and power generation capabilities. Understanding these parameters is crucial for advancing energy harvesting technology and its impact on electronic devices. By harnessing ambient energy effectively, we can foster sustainable development and reduce environmental impact.
