The effect of diameter and length of ZnO nanorods on hydrophobicity

چکیده
Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorod thin films were prepared on the glass substrates by a spin coating method. Two differentdiameters and lengths for the nanorods were achieved by setting the speed of spinning at specific values.Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) patterns indicate formation of hexagonalcross section rods with aspect ratios (length/width) of about ۰.۹۳ and ۰.۹۷ for the speeds of ۵۰۰ rpm and۱۵۰۰ rpm, respectively. Water contact angle (WCA) measurements showed an improvement in the hydrophobicproperties for the rods with aspect ratio of ۰.۹۷.کلیدواژه ها
