Effect of a theory-based educational Intervention among youth encouraging to register organ donation cards

چکیده

Aims while the important organs of brain death patients can be transplanted to needy patients, this study aimed to determine the effect of theory-based educational intervention on persuading Eivan's young people to receive organ donation card. Methods This randomized clinical trial was performed on ۸۰ people (۴۰ people in each of the intervention and control groups). Samples were selected by two-stage random cluster sampling. Researcher-made questionnaire was used. Data were analyzed through SPSS version۲۶ software at a significance level of ۰.۰۵. Findings Mean age in the intervention and control groups was Respectively (۲۴.۹۰±۲.۵۶ years) and (۲۴.۰۳±۲.۵۵ years). In both groups, ۵۰% of the people were women. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of education level. The mean scores of the structures of the planned behavior theory (attitude, mental norm, perceived behavioral control and behavioral intention) before the educational intervention in the intervention and control groups were not significantly different. After the educational intervention, the mean score of the structures of the planned behavior theory including attitude (۴۷.۰۲±۲.۱۸ vs. ۳۸.۰۵±۶.۲۸), mental norm (۱۷.۴۷±۲.۰۳ vs. ۱۳.۴۲±۲.۳۸), perceived behavioral control (۱۹.۲۰±۱.۴۵ vs. ۱۵.۱۷±۳.۷۸), and behavioral intention (۹.۶۲±۰.۷۴ vs. ۶.۹۷±۲.۰۵). In the intervention group increased significantly (P< ۰.۰۰۱) but in the control group, none of the structures had a significant improvement (P> ۰.۰۵). Conclusion Training based on the theory of planned behavior led to a significant increase in its structures to receive an organ donation card in young people.
