خلاصه مقاله:
The present paper investigates injection of twodimensional unsteady compressible and incompressible turbulent synthetic jets into a quiescent medium numerically. The two-equation SST / k −w turbulence model is used for simulating the turbulent flow. The diaphragm is simulated in two ways: Firstly, it is omitted and instead a sinusoidal function is employed as an inlet boundary condition. Secondly, it is simulated via a moving grid. Also, an ideal gas assumption is considered for the compressibility modeling. The SIMPLE–C algorithm is used to couple the pressure and velocity equations. The present results for compressible and incompressible cases are analyzed and compared. The compressible case shows good agreement with the existing experimental data. The velocity magnitude on centerline shows a peak at x/d=6 for both cases. However, the peak velocity magnitude in the compressible case is less than the incompressible one. The contour of mean static temperature shows that cavity temperature is increased during the diaphragm oscillation and the temperature of mean synthetic jet is between the cavity temperature and quiescent medium
