Protein is an important chemical substance in our life and the major target of many types of medicine in the body. So far, there have been many examples in studying the molecular interactions of different kinds of drugs with various cellular proteins. However, reports on the interaction of effective chemical compound present in Chinese herbal medicine with cellular protein are still scarce. Serum albumin, the most abundant protein in the blood circulatory system, plays an important role in the transport and deposition of a variety of endogenous and exogenous substances such as fatty acids, hormones, and drugs. It has been one of the most extensively stud-ied proteins. Human serum albumin (HSA) is the most important and abundant constituent of blood plasma. Recently, the three-dimensional structure of HSA was determined through X-ray crystallographic measurement. Organophosphate poisoning has significant gastrointestinal manifestations including vomiting, diarrhea, cramps and increased salivation.
