چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim: Chronic pain is an emotional experience with unpleasant psychological consequences for individuals and society. This research was conducted with the aim of a systematic review of psychological interventions implemented in the treatment of people suffering from chronic pain.
Methods and Materials/Patients: This study was conducted using a systematic review method between January ۲۰۱۸ and December ۲۰۲۲. The keywords "chronic pain", "psychological interventions", "psychotherapy", "psychology", "clinical trials", and "randomized clinical trial" have been searched in PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar indexing databases. From a total of ۲۷۸۵ articles found, ۲۰ articles by ۲۰۷۸ contributors were selected for review.
Results: The results showed that cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) ranks first among psychological interventions for people with chronic pain. Also, to improve the quality of life and psychological health of these people through other psychological interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness has been used. This treatment has been effective in relieving pain, controlling pain, reducing stress and depression, and improving quality of life. The use of a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design and follow-up were the strengths of these studies.
Conclusion: The collected data suggested that psychological interventions had the greatest impact on pain relief, quality of life, depression, and stress, respectively. Based on this, it is proposed to use psychological interventions in addition to medical treatment.
