چکیده

Introduction and objective: Many people around the world are exposed to different chemicals in different jobs. Contact with chemicals can lead to numerous health effects. There is a growing need to risk assessment of hazardous chemicals and related processes that affect the health of exposed individuals. Chemical risk assessment enables us to make appropriate decisions about control measures and to protect employees from the adverse effects of chemicals. Health risk assessment methods are performed in two ways: qualitatively (using risk assessment matrix) or quantitatively.Method: In this study, Science direct, Google Scholar, ISI, Scopus, Pub med search engines were used. The keywords based on which the articles were searched included Semi-quantitative chemical risk assessment, SQRA, Hazardous materials, work place in the period of ۲۰۱۶ to ۲۰۲۱. Among the published articles, Common methods in the field of chemical exposure risk assessment were found.Result: Common methods in the field of chemical exposure risk assessment are SQRA method, USEPA method, DOSH method, CHARM method and KOSHA method. Due to the lack of epidemiological data and the length of quantitative methods, some studies use semi-qualitative methods such as SQRA to risk assessment of exposure to hazardous chemicals.Conclusion: In this review study, SQRA method in semi-quantitative risk assessment of chemicals in the workplace will be introduced.
