The Comparison of Attachment Style, Distress Tolerance and Perceived Stress among Addicted Women to Methadone and Non_ Addicted

Introduction and objective: Addiction and substance abuse has caused many problems, especially in women. Many factors are involved in the relapse and return of addiction in women, including attachment style, disturbance tolerance and perceived stress. Based on this, this research aims to compare the style Attachment, anxiety tolerance and perceived stress in women with methadone use and non-addicts in Rasht city.Method: This research is applied in terms of purpose, and descriptive-analytical in terms of comparative design. Statistical population, ۶۰ people. (۳۰ women with methadone use, ۳۰ women without any addictive substance use) were selected as samples. The sampling method was available. Simmons and Gaher (۲۰۰۵). Cohen et al.'s (۱۹۸۳) Perceived Stress Scale answered. It was investigated using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA).Results: The statistically significant results of the research are that between women addicted to methadone and non-addicted women in at least one of the attachment styles. There is a significant difference (p<۰.۰۵). There is a significant difference between methadone-addicted women and non-addicted women, at least in the general score of disturbance tolerance or the dimensions of tolerance, adjustment, evaluation and absorption (p<۰.۰۵). Between the perceptions of stress in women addicted to methadone and non-addicted women, it shows that there is a significant difference in the positive perception of stress in the two groups (p<۰.۰۵) and there is no significant difference in the negative perception of stress between the two groups (p> ۰.۰۵).Conclusion: attachment style, perceived stress and disturbance tolerance are different in women with methadone use and non-addicts, so it is necessary to provide the necessary training and skills to women with methadone use in addiction treatment clinics in addition to drug treatment.
