The effect of eight weeks of aerobic exercise and cinnamaldehyde supplementation on body composition and fat distribution in overweight and obese women

Background:Nutritional modulation and exercise intervention remains central to the management ofObesity. The combination of aerobic exercise with cinnamaldehyde supplementation in overweightand obese women remains sparsely researched.Methods:We investigated the effect of aerobic exercise with cinnamaldehyde supplementation onbody composition (body mass, BMI, and fat mass) and fat distribution (waist circumference, hipcircumference, and WHR). In this ۸-week double-blind, randomized control trial, ۴۰ individuals withoverweight and Obesity were randomized to four intervention groups, Cinnamaldehyde [۳ capsules(۶۰۰ mg) daily] or placebo.Results:A significantly more significant decrease in fat mass and body mass was observed in themixed group compared to other groups. Other parameters which showed significantly more significantimprovement were: waist circumference, WHR, hip circumference, and BMI.Conclusion:The combined effect of aerobic exercise and Cinnamaldehyde supplementation on fatdistribution factors (waist circumference, hip circumference, and WHR) was significant. However,there was not enough evidence to support the effects on fat mass and, subsequently, body compositionin overweight and obese women.
