چکیده مقاله:

Background: The abuse of drugs and addictive substances is now considered as a widespreadglobal problem, which has caused concern to many human societies. The present study is designedwith the aim of investigating the role of addictive substances in the occurrence of family violence. Methods: The present study was a review study designed in ۲۰۲۲. The search was conducted ininternational and national databases, including Scientific Information Database (SID), PubMedand Scopus, using the following keywords: “polycystic ovary syndrome”, “etiology” and “riskfactor”. Summaries of articles published in congresses and conferences were excluded from thestudy. Initially, ۱۲ articles in English or Persian were finally evaluated. Results: By examining various studies, it was found that there is a significant relationship betweensubstances use and committing violent crimes. These substances, with their adverse effects on thenervous system, take away the ability of self-control and decision-making in the moment andcause aggressive and violent behavior. Abnormal behaviors of parents due to the use ofsubstances, as well as the use of these substances in front of the family, especially children, cancause violent behavior among family members and especially substances users, which can affectthe physical and mental health of people. The use of alcohol and other substances is associatedwith an increase in the likelihood of violence related to sexual assault, which affects women"ssexual health and fertility. Conclusion: Addictive substances can cause violent behavior patterns and ineffective reactions bycausing adverse effects on a person and have an adverse effect on his family and interactions insociety. In order to prevent this great damage, it is possible to prevent people from turning to thesesubstances at a young age by teaching in schools and informing in the public media. It is alsopossible to prevent the occurrence of family violence, suicide and many complications of thisdisease by creating support groups for people who are involved in the disease of addiction andproviding the necessary treatment and counseling to them and their families.
