چکیده مقاله:

Climate change and human intervention affect coastal processes. Ports' functionality may be affected by these changes, and the coastline downstream may be eroded. Recently, mechanical equipment has been used to restore the naturalcycle of sediment transport around ports. This study examined the possibility of implementing Sand BypassingSystems (SBS) in Chamkhaleh Port by comparing its sedimentary situation with successful examples of SBS aroundthe world. Finally, by studying the sedimentation condition of the Chamkhaleh Port details of implemented SBS waspresented in detail. Considering the proximity of the sediment transport rate of Chamkhaleh Port to the Lake Worthinlet of Florida (۶۰۰۰۰ m۳/year), two options were proposed to solve the sedimentation problems of the ChamkhalehPort. In the first option, the suggestion is to use a fixed bypassing station in terms of mobility, with an interventionmode of operation and a permanent schedule. While the bypassing system proposed as a second option was fixed interms of its ability to move, was with storage space in terms of its operation mode, and was permanent in terms of itsoperation schedule
