چکیده

Conductive polypyrrole has been extensively researched due to its potential applications in batteries, supercapacitores, sensors, microvave shielding and corrosion protection [1]. Pure polypyrrole is brittle, insoluble and infusible, and hence not processible. In order to achieve new function of polypyrrole, one of the most efficient means is to prepare polypyrrole based composite films where new chemical components, such as nanoparticles of Fe2O3 and Pd [2] or nanostructured clays [3] are introduced. Most of the polypyrrole/Na+-montmorillonite (PPY/Na+-MMT) nanocomposites were prepared by chemical methods. However PPY films synthesized by electrochemical polymerization have advantages of free standing films available, higher conductivities and air stabilities. J.I. Martins et al [4], have obtained very adherent PPy films on iron and mild steel using single-step electropolymerization of pyrrole in aqueous medium in the presence of malate. Yu-chuan Liu and Ming-Der Ger [5], have prepared PPY/MMT composite by electropolymerization method on a gold substrate in lithiumperchlorate media. They investigated the nucleation and growth mechanisms of PPY and PPY/MMT. In this project PPY/MMT nanocomposites were synthesized electrochemically on iron electrodes from oxalic acid media. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and cyclic voltammetrie (cv) has been used for the characterization of nanocomposites. The corrosion protection efficiency of the nanocomposite films on iron samples was also investigated in NaCl 3.5% corrosive environment
