Now a days the importance for natural sources in medical practices and therapeutic uses is spreading. Medicinal plants are a big natural source to use for a healthy body and soul. The thing about the medicinal plants is that they are mostly used to prevent medical deseases besides their curing benefits and they have the least side effects despite the chemical drugs. Terminalia chebula (family: Combretaceae) is a strong medicinal plant that is widely used in the traditional medicine of India and Iran to treat diseases that include dementia, constipation, and diabetes.Myrobalan fruit is also known as a strong source of vitamins and minerals and has different medical benefits for medical issues such as cough, constipation, gas, and bloating, detoxification, metabolism, immunity, fertility, libido, cleansing, regular bowel movements, nourishing and rejuvenating the tissues, indigestion, lung disease, obesity, impotence, cold, asthma, vision defects, urinary tract infections and hair and skin problems. The myrobalan powder is also great for whitening teeth.In India Myrobalan fruit powder is also known as haritaki powder and Prized as the “King Of Medicines”. Haritaki(Myrobalan fruit powder) is a miraculous ayurvedic fruit that is extensively used for a wide range of traditional remedies. Cultivated from the seeds of Terminalia chebula tree, it is popularly known as Indian walnut for its innumerable benefits or Indian hog plum in English.In Buddhism, haritaki is called “Big Golden Fruit” and represents a connection to the Buddha. It’s believed to embody the core value of Buddhism, compassion.Except India, The tree is known in Iranian traditional medicine (ITM) as halileh or halilaj.References to the medicinal properties of Terminalia chebula were collected from real life observing, important ITM sources and from modern medical databases (PubMed, Scirus, ScienceDirect). This article confirms the medicinal uses of Terminalia chebula(Myrobalan )both for the body and the mind
