Identifying and prioritizing artificial intelligence challenges in the translation industry

The purpose of this research is identifying and prioritizing the challenges of artificial intelligence in the translation industry. In terms of purpose, this research is an applied research, in terms of research method, it is a qualitative-quantitative research, and in terms of data collection method, it is a survey-exploratory type, and in terms of collection, it is a cross-sectional type. In order to identify the challenges and sub-challenges, the researcher first examined the background of the research and interviewed experts and identified the factors that played a role in general. The statistical population includes ۳۰ professors in the field of artificial ejaculation and English translation with a doctorate degree in Tehran, who are knowledgeable about the topic of the research. Due to the small size of the population, the same number was chosen as the sample size and the sampling method is the whole number. The required data were collected using the interview questionnaire of paired comparisons. In relation to research background and interviews with experts, criteria such as Non-cooperation of people in order to improve the translation by providing suggestions and editing, software, slow progress in artificial intelligence, lack of evaluation system, lack of specialization, Reduced investment in artificial intelligence, Use of limited data resources, Elimination of human translation was excluded. With the help of experts, these criteria were categorized into three options: human factors, factors related to artificial intelligence, and factors related to structure and strategy. The mentioned questionnaire was designed with ۸ criteria (sub-indicators or sub-challenges) in the form of ۳ variables (indicators or challenges). In this research, the validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by experts. After the final approval of the indicators and the design of the paired comparisons questionnaire, the inconsistency rate was ۰/۰۸ that it shows the reliability of the questionnaire. In this section, to examine the questions, the Vikor method and the BEHIN TASMIM software were used for weighting and prioritizing the variables. The results showed that among the options (challenges), the factor related to artificial intelligence with ۰/۷۱۰۵ the factor related to structure and strategy with ۰/۵ and the human factor with ۰/۴۳۷۱ respectively, they were assigned the most importance among the challenges of artificial intelligence in the translation industry. Among the criteria (sub-challenges) the Non-cooperation of people in order to improve the translation by providing suggestions and editing, Use of limited data resources, software, elimination of human translation, lack of specialization, slow progress in artificial intelligence, lack of evaluation system and Reduced investment in artificial intelligence are more important respectively.
