چکیده مقاله:

In this study, similar connection joint of AZ۳۱ biodegradable magnesium alloy byfriction welding method was investigated.Optical and electron microscopes (SEM) wereused to investigate the microstructure, X-ray diffraction was used for phase analysis, andmicrohardness and tensile devices were used to investigate mechanical properties andpolarization tests were used to investigate corrosion resistance. Welding was performedwith welding parameters of ۱۳۰۰ rpm, friction pressure of ۵۰ MPa and forge pressure of۴۰ MPa. The microstructure results showed that the magnesium microstructure consistedof various regions such as near welding (dynamic recrystallization (DRX)),thermomechanical operation affected area (TMAZ) and partially deformed region. Also, the tensile strength of the welded specimen was ۲۴۳.۱ MPa, which is equal to the tensilestrength of magnesium. This is due to the formation of intermetallic compounds in thewelding region. Suitable corrosion ofthe specimens is due to the formation of Mg۱۷Al۱۲intermetallic phase, because this phase is inert (neutral) chloride solution. Hardnessvalues in the weld section were ۱۳۵.۵ Vickers, mainly due to grain refinement andMg۱۷Al۱۲ deposition in the weld
