چکیده مقاله:

GRID platforms are opening up potential solutions across the range of e-Health Challenges. The challenges include data storage, emote/telemedicine and personalized medicine and drug discovery. GRID platforms and the high bandwidth, low latency networks that support them provide the necessary platform for new and innovative solutions in e-Health. Although many GRID solutions are custom built in house solutions, the move to cloud computing platforms and data storage outsourcing has provided reliable storage and computation at a very costeffective price, with the additional benefit that the systems are scalable with increased users. Legal and policy constraints in most jurisdictions mean that full outsourcing will never be a solution, but with increasingly customized security and data storage policies it is becoming easier to leverage these technologies in a legally compliant manner. This lecture overviews some of the GRID platforms currently in place at Monash University, briefly discussing the e-Health applications currently underway, the data storage policy framework to support the stringent requirements of e-Health and some of the exciting projects with potential for future collaborations
