چکیده مقاله:

Background and Purpose: Streptococcus mutans is one of the most common causes of toothdecay and tooth decay, which is an acid-loving microbe and polysaccharides produced fromsucrose acid facilitate the accumulation of this microbe. Colonization is also on the riseChildren often have more than one strain of Streptococcus mutans, and most share at leastone strain with their mother or family member. However, ۷۲% of children have one orseveral strains of Streptococcus mutans which are not observed in other family members.Materials and Methods: This review study was conducted in ۲۰۲۱ looking up keywordssuch as Streptococcus mutans and pediatric dental caries in reputable databases such as: pubmed and Google scholar. Finally, ۲۰ items were recovered, ۱۵ of them. Was used.Results: Frequent sugars intake plays an important role in children's tooth decay. Statisticsshow that ۷۲% of children have one or more strains of Streptococcus mutans in addition tomeasures such as brushing, health checks, and oral health to prevent dental caries.Consuming sugars at bedtime, breastfeeding older children, or using medication syrups forrecurrent chronic diseases are risk factors. Treatment can only be carried out by replacing thelost hard dental tissue with repairing materials. If the crown cavity does not stop in time andreaches the tooth pulp, the root canal must be treated or denatured.Conclusion: According to the findings, it is better to set up a program to reduce the risk thatthe risk factor is not dangerous for us and it is recommended that we be diligent in preventingtooth decay by understanding the appropriate measures.
