Background and aim: Due to the COVID-۱۹ pandemic, education has significantly changed and thus distinctive online learning has taken place. Peer learning is a collaborative learning method where fellow classmates work together to learn from each other.Materials and method: The present study aims at the impact of online peer learning on the improvement of ESP reading comprehension ability. So, a group of fifty homogenous nursing students were selected. They were randomly assigned to control and experimental groups. Then both groups enjoyed a series of similar instructions except that the students in the experimental group were required to undertake online peer learning. Finally, in order to capture the probable significant relationship between online peer learning and reading comprehension, a t-test was used.Results: The results rejected the null hypothesis indicating that online peer learning positively affected the ESP students’ reading comprehension abilityConclusion: Peer learning is a pedagogical approach to enhance online learning. The approach transforms students into autonomous yet community-based learners.
