Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Industrial Workers Toward SARS-COVID-۲: A Cross Sectional Study

چکیده مقاله:

Background and aim: The World Health Organization declared the novel coronavirus (COVID-۱۹) outbreak a global pandemic on March ۱۱, ۲۰۲۰. The Covid-۱۹ pandemic significantly affects the health of workforce as the most important source of manpower in maintaining business and the community economy. The provision of health education and awareness in such situation is very important and vital for the effective prevention of the spread of the outbreak. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitudes and practices related to Covid-۱۹ and its effective factors among industry practitioners in industrial areas.Materials and method: A cross-sectional study was performed from October to December ۲۰۲۱. Data from ۴۹۴ employees working in different industries were collected using a questionnaire that was constructed and validated in this study. The questionnaire included demographic variables and items about knowledge, attitudes, and practices. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software version ۲۶ in two descriptive and inferential statistical levels with a significance level of P <۰. ۰۵.Results: The mean and standard deviation of workers age was ۳۵.۳۹ ± ۰.۷ and ranged from ۱۷ to ۵۴ years. ۷۰.۶% of the workers had a diploma or lower and ۲۹.۴% had a bachelor's degree or higher. Knowledge and practice of ۲۰-۳۰ years old were significantly different from knowledge and practice of other age groups (P <۰.۰۵). Also, the results of Pearson correlation test showed that there is a positive and significant correlation between knowledge and attitude (r = ۰.۱۱, P = ۰.۰۱) and attitude and practice (r = ۰.۹۸, P = ۰.۰۰۱).Conclusion: The results of the present study showed the need to increase awareness through training courses and positive attitude of the studied worker in order to strengthen suitable practices and motivate them to take appropriate preventive measures against Covid-۱۹.
