چکیده مقاله:

The exposed dentin can cause dentin hypersensitivity treated by reducing hydraulic conductance of the dentin. We aimed to compare the effect of milk and mouth wash containing potassium nitrate on the hydraulic conductance of human dentin in extracted teeth. The hydraulic conductance of ۳۰ non-carious extracted human premolars with exposed dentin were examined the by fluid filtration device. ۱۵ teeth, were first tested milk and then mouthwash and in the other ۱۵ teeth, first mouthwash and then milk and then measure hydraulic conductance of each tooth after tests. The other ۶ teeth were divided into three groups of distilled water (G۱), milk (G۲) and mouthwash containing potassium nitrate (G۳) to evaluate the morphology of the exposed dentin and after applying the materials, they were examined by SEM. The results showed that milk and mouthwash containing potassium nitrate significantly were reduced the hydraulic conductance and there was no significant difference between the effects of them in reducing hydraulic conductance of dentin. Cow's milk can be used as a suitable alternative in treatment of DH because it used in home and also cheap and available.
