چکیده مقاله:
Objective: Mesenchymal s tem cells (MSCs) are multipotentprogenitors and promising cell resources for regenerative medicine.MSCs can differentiate into a variety of cells, includingos teoblas ts, chondrocytes, adipocytes, fibroblas ts, and cardiomyocytes. As mos t organs require the support of the extracellularmatrix for their formation from cells, direct injection ofthe MSC into the damaged tissue is not capable of tissue repairand is not bioavailable. Thus, researchers are cons tantly on thelookout for a bioavailable environment that, in vitro, providesthe optimal conditions for proliferation and differentiation ofMSC to use in damaged tissue.Materials and Methods: In this s tudy, the composite hydrogelwith the physiological pH and collagen/chitosan ratio of ۵/۱was enriched with human platelet lysates and then encapsulatedwith adult human bone marrow (BM) derived s tem cells (SCs).Results: This collagen/chitosan hydrogel has been shownto provide MSCs with favorable growth environment. It alsomaintained cellular processes, including initial adhesion, mitosis, and differentiation. Conclusion: Chitosan–collagen composite hydrogel materialscan be used for MSC encapsulation and delivery, as well as insitu gel formation for tissue engineering.
