mRNA; A Transformative Technology for DiseasePrevention & Treatment

“The brand new mRNA technology has successfully introducedits firs t important and effective products; the COVID-۱۹ mRNAvaccines from Pfizer and Moderna in ۲۰۲۰. These two vaccinesand many more vaccines and other mRNA-based products areexpected to appear in the drug market from these two companiesand many more s tartups world-wide within the next fewyears. It seems that mRNA technology is about to revolutionizethe biopharmaceutical indus try by introducing a wide varietyof products for disease control and treatment. Here, in Iran wehave developed COReNAPCIN® the firs t mRNA-based vaccinecandidate. We are also working on the other aspects ofmRNA technology applicable in gene- and immuno-therapyas well as regenerative medicine. In this talk I will present therecent advances regarding es tablishment of mRNA technologyand its supply chain in Iran, for sus tainable development of domestic prophylactic vaccines and drug products for the benefitof the society.
