The Role of Midwives and Nurses in Psychologicaland Emotional Counseling and Support in Patients with DecreasedOvarian Reserve

Infertility is an event that alters life and produces experiencesthat cause anxiety. Recent research has noted that patients haveinsis ted that ongoing emotional support and s tress counselingshould be part of IVF treatment. This presentation discusseshow Infertile women with a low ovarian reserve who are undergoinginfertility assessments and treatments might experienceanxiety and sadness, as well as what midwives and nurses cando to help them manage this anxiety.S tudies have shown there is a need for midwives and nursesto offer special care for infertile women who suffer from lowovarian reserve. The main themes identified are the need to ensurecontinuity of care and support at all s tages of treatment,particularly prior to pregnancy tes ts, during pregnancy as wellas Prenatally, and especially after unsuccessful treatment
