چکیده

Background: Roos ter sperm cellular membrane is chillingsensitivedue to high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acidsthat are s talwartly vulnerable to lipid peroxidation. The presents tudy was performed to determine the effects of different levelsof mitochondria-targeted antioxidant “MitoQ” on the roos ter’scooled sperm quality indicators.Materials and Methods: Semen samples were collected from۱۰ roos ters, diluted in Lake extender, assigned into ۵ groupsaccording to the MitoQ concentrations (۰, ۱, ۱۰, ۱۰۰, ۱۰۰۰ nMMitoQ) and s tored at ۵°C up to ۴۸ hours. Total motility, progressivemotility, viability and membrane integrity were evaluatedat ۰, ۲۴ and ۴۸ hours of cooling s torage periods.Results: Our findings depicted that extender supplementationwith MitoQ had no effect (P> ۰.۰۵) on cooled semen samplesquality parameters at time ۰, while at times ۲۴ and ۴۸ hourss torage, samples contained ۱۰۰ nM MitoQ presented higher(P≤۰.۰۵) total motility, progressive motility, viability and membraneintegrity compared to the other groups.Conclusion: In conclusion, supplementation of Lake Extenderwith ۱۰۰ nM MitoQ could be a helpful s trategy to conservecooled semen quality in roos ter.
