Spermatogonial stem cells: Origin and specification, properties, culture, andclinical applications

Great advances have been reached in the field of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs)since the first report on the existence of these cells by Huckines and colleagues in ۱۹۵۳.However, there are still some challenges in the field of SSCs including lack of globalprocedures for culturing and specific markers for isolating these cells and futureimprovements will overcome these challenges. This review focuses on theseimprovements in different aspects of SSCs and comprehensively represents the latestimprovements in our understanding of the SSC formation, properties, culture, and futureclinical applications.
