چکیده مقاله:

In this study, the ability of Brassica napus to absorb uranium from the sandy soil was studied. For this purpose, two types of sandy soils were considered while polluted with ۳۰۰ mg/Kg of uranium. The amounts of uranium in different parts of the plant (leaf, stem and root) were investigated using the ash method. The effects of adding fertilizer and time of harvesting on uranium uptake by the plant were investigated. The results indicated more uptake in different parts of the plant in one soil sample which can be related to its higher salinity. Addition of the fertilizer caused a slight decrease of uranium uptake by the plant. As the harvest time increased, uranium was transferred from the underground part to the aerial part. Moreover, higher uptake of uranium was observed in ۳ months compared to ۱ month. Generally, Brassica napus has absorbed more than mg/kg of uranium in all their parts after months and the calculated values of transfer factor are higher than . According to these results, it can be considered as a uranium hyper-accumulator plant, however, more studies are still needed to determine the effects of the other parameters in uranium adsorption.
