School-based interventions in improving emotional and social competence in children and adolescents

In The era of widespread change and transformation, one of the most influential psychological skills in life is the ability of emotional and social competence, in this regard, school plays the most important role. Children and adolescents also act in the face of various problems and life situations according to the treasury of knowledge, skills acquired and experience. The purpose of this review is to provide a clear picture of different aspects of improving the development of social and emotional competence by using school-based prevention interventions. In this review, in order to identify related articles and collect information by library method, three databases (scholar, springer and eric) were searched and a total of ۳۲ cases were examined. In this study, we intend to examine the factors affecting the promotion of emotional and social competencies in children and adolescents in line with positive emotional and social psychological skills. The results show that focusing on social and emotional education programs may lead to self-fulfillment and psychological well-being in preschool, elementary, and higher education students and protect them from the consequences of psychological distress. A wide range of participatory interventions by families and schools by using strategies to improve emotional and social competence in order to adapt to performance in the social environment and responsible management of emotions leads to a constructive approach in students' interpersonal relationships. In addition, personalizing this skill is socially important for children and adolescents because many of these programs may lead to emotional and social competencies in the skills of awareness and emotion management, understanding the views of others, identifying problems, and developing solutions. Promote positive about issues.
