Investigating the causal model of academic satisfaction based on academic self-regulation and academic engagement mediated by satisfying basic psychological needs

چکیده مقاله:

This descriptive study is a correlation type, was conducted to investigate the causal model of academic satisfaction based on academic self-regulation and academic engagement mediated by satisfying basic psychological needs. The statistical population was all female high school students in the second district of Sanandaj in ۲۰۲۱-۲۰۲۲. Sample size of ۳۵۰ people were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling. The assessment tools of Academic Satisfaction Questionnaire are Lent et al.'s (۲۰۰۷), Academic Self-Regulation of Beaufard (۱۹۹۵), Academic Conflict of Tinio (۲۰۰۹), and Satisfaction of Basic Psychological Needs of Lagarde et al. (۲۰۰۰). Pearson correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling were used to analyze the data. Findings showed that there is a significant relationship between academic satisfaction with academic engagement and academic self-regulation. Students' academic satisfaction increases with the increment of academic engagement and self-regulation. Satisfaction of basic psychological needs also mediates the relationship between academic satisfaction, academic self-regulation and academic engagement, so it can be said that the fitness indicators of the model indicate that the proposed model has a good fit. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to cultivating and strengthening the sense of academic satisfaction in the educational environment, educational content, involving students in homework and educational activities, self-regulation and their basic needs.
