چکیده
Background and Aim : In most poultry and aquaculture industries, the drinking water is usedwithout a disinfection process, which sometimes causes animal mortality and much economicdamage. On the other hand, Ultraviolet light (UV, ۲۵۴ nm) has potent antimicrobial activity.However, it has not been user-friendly due to some problems. Therefore we designed a largedisinfectant tube with a UV lamp supported by a quartz tube (coated with silica nano clay toprevent the formation of calcium carbonate deposits). Also, a mobile application makes easy useof and maintenance by sensors (temperature, turbidity, flow, and UV light intensity), a display,and monitoring. Then we discussed its antibacterial activity on some important watercontaminating.Methods : A high concentration of bacteria (۱۰۷/ml) investigated the column performance overtime, including Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcusaureus, and Salmonella typhimurium. The sampling times were ۰, ۱, ۳, ۵, ۱۰, ۲۰, ۳۰, and ۶۰seconds. Samples were cultivated on blood agar and incubated at ۳۷ oC overnight.Results : ۱ second of UV light reduced nearly ۱۰,۰۰۰ times the number of bacteria. The numberof Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterococcus faecalis bacteria from the initialvalues dropped to zero in the third second. These values were ۵ and ۱۰ seconds for Staphylococcusaureus and Salmonella typhimurium, respectively.Conclusion : This equipment can reduce the number of bacteria by ۱۰۰ times with a flow rate of۲ liters/second and eliminate ۱۰۰% of the mentioned bacteria with a flow rate of ۰.۶ liter /second.UV light can serve as an excellent alternative for disinfection surface water bacteria.کلیدواژه ها
